Evolve Academy International is based in Sofia and built for a new generation of learners. We are more than an English school. We are a creative space where confidence grows, skills evolve, and real-world English becomes second nature.

Our mission is to prepare students for life, not just exams. We focus on clear communication, strong thinking, and practical language that moves with them across borders and into the future.

We use creativity, curiosity, and modern tools to make every lesson engaging and alive. Our students learn to speak with impact, think with clarity, and step into every challenge with confidence. At Evolve, learning is not a subject. It is a way of becoming.

Our Founding

Meet Shumana

Hi, I’m Shumana Akta β€” an educator, curriculum designer, and camp leader with over a decade of international experience. Since starting my teaching journey in Barcelona in 2013, I’ve worked with private schools, language academies, and summer camps across Europe and Asia, creating dynamic learning experiences that inspire creativity and confidence.

I’m currently based in Sofia, Bulgaria, where I teach at Fusion School and St. George’s Pre-School, while also running Evolve Academy International and developing our flagship program, Camp Evolve. I’ve previously worked with the American College of Sofia and the NGO Dechitsa, supporting youth through innovative education and mentorship.

Most recently, I had the honour of lecturing at Sofia University, speaking to second-year pedagogy students about my teaching journey and experience in international education.

With a background in Law (LLB) and a CELTA qualification, I’m passionate about empowering young learners and transforming education through creativity, global connection, and purpose-driven learning.
